yoga training workshops
Do you want to deepen your understanding of Yoga without having to commit to a Teacher Training Course? These workshops are available as individual events. Do one, or do them all, focus on the areas that inspire you, whether that’s a look at the impact of your thoughts and feelings with the Samkhya philosophy workshop, maintaining or establishing health and wellbeing with Ayurvedic Principles, or delving more into the physical body with Anatomy Fundamentals, Power, Yin and Restorative.
This is a stand-alone course for anyone teaching movement.
This is not your average anatomy training.
Leslie & Amy will share their own favourite teaching strategies like…
* How to make poses accessible for any student
* What to do when students have an injury and still want to practice
* Simple cues that help every student find success on the mat
Leslie and Amy’s unique blend of humour and expertise make them the absolute best team to guide you through this phase of your journey.
HOW DOES IT WORK?
You’ll join Amy & Leslie at home via your computer for 20-hours of guided lesson content, reflection, personal exploration, and teaching preparation.
They’ll lead you through movement experiments that will help you apply anatomy ideas to your own practice, and give you tools you’ll be able to access as a teacher. You’ll have time to soak up the material and try it out in your own asana practice.
Then we come together as a group, you’ll already have a strong foundation. Our group time will be spent on the hands-on application. We’ll discuss, share movement exercises, and observe exactly how this information interweaves with our Yoga Rhythms style.
By the time we’re finished, you’ll have a broad understanding of the anatomical concepts that are most important to a yoga teacher so you can teach with confidence.
This is the most comprehensive, most useful anatomy training available to teacher training programs today, and this full online + in-person experience is available only through studios like ours.
You don’t have to be training with us to take advantage of this course, you will simply attend the Anatomy Fundamentals workshop.

POWER 1 (CPD 30 hours)
The principles of growth are about exceeding our limitations and require us to be challenged and inspired by those who have walked the road before us.
Baron Baptiste shares a wealth of information in his journey into power and Jo has been walking that path, breaking new ground, and exploring new territory with a weekly early morning power yoga practice at the woody point waterfront.
In Power 1 we explore the basics, how to synchronize movement, correct dialogue, provide space and most importantly the art of repetition, self-practice and meditation.
Transformation and evolution are essentials for life, without them, we stagnate, for students, there is nothing more powerful than those teachers who show us the way by example. Step up to the mat teachers for this empowering weekend.

Samkhya’s Philosophy explains how we devolved from an expansive inclusive state of being to a limited personal perspective.
The process of yoga will let you identify the cause of this personal perspective, and help you to reevaluate any misperceptions.
When everything you perceive makes it through your mind unaltered, you will reveal the expansive, inclusive state.
Internal suffering is the best gauge of your progress.
When events no longer ‘trigger’ your buttons, when your helpful habitual patterns are stronger than the harmful ones, then you can act consciously, deliberately and compassionately, and then you have mastered your mind.
When a situation causes you to suffer and you allow hurtful past conditioning to influence your reaction, it’s time to weed out the underlying cause.
This workshop will give you the tools to do just that.
Explore your mind through Samkhya and Yoga, refine and simplify.
As you identify which aspect of the mind is active you will be able to coordinate the functions of your mind and find rest in the still centre, while still fully engaged in the world.
