I am not sure if I am good enough at yoga to enrol in Teacher Training, what are your prerequisites? 2016-11-15T16:20:12+00:00

If you have a regular yoga practice, you may be more ready than you realise. At Yoga Rhythms your passion and commitment are the prerequisites. The asana day will enhance your skills and throughout the course you will be asked to maintain a daily practice, and attend regular Yoga Rhythms classes. After Graduation you will only ever teach at a level where you are competent to practice.

Yes, you can enrol for the 200Hr Integrated Practice course.

What is the Yoga Rhythms Teacher Training Certification? 2016-11-15T16:25:31+00:00

Upon Successful completion of the course, you will be awarded a Yoga Rhythms Teacher Certification. This certification enables you to register with Yoga Australia as a 350hr or level 1 Yoga Teacher,(the prerequisite is that you have been practising yoga for a minimum of 2 years)

Yes, the course is designed for you to develop your own yoga practice. It is a wonderful self development tool, and who knows, like many of our trainees who signed on for personal development, you may become an inspired Yoga Teacher.

What do I need to bring, and what is provided for the training? 2016-11-15T16:24:57+00:00

You need to bring your mat and any props you need to sit comfortably (blankets, blocks and straps are available at the Hall). Bring an adequate supply of drinking water, (warm tea is supplied). You will need a pen and paper, (you will receive your manual). Bring a nutritious morning and afternoon tea, and a healthy vegetarian lunch. You will need to wear comfortable clothing to adapt to the weather conditions.

You will need to ask one of your fellow trainees to take notes for you and catch up on what you missed before the next training day. If you miss more than 1 day you may need to repeat that day the following year (your teacher will assess if this is necessary)

How much time will I need to spend on homework? 2016-11-15T16:23:42+00:00

We advise you to spend a minimum of 5hrs a week reviewing your manual, answering the workshop questions, and integrating the practices you have learnt in the workshops. We recommend you integrate the practices on waking, and/or before reclining for sleep.

Will I have the opportunity to actually teach a class? 2016-11-15T16:23:30+00:00

Yes you will, throughout the course you will be preparing by teaching your fellow students and building your personal vinyassa. On completion of the course you will teach a 60min class to your fellow trainees and teachers for assessment requirements.

What happens if I don’t meet the required standards? 2016-11-15T16:23:18+00:00

You will be given the points that need to be reviewed and addressed, and the opportunity to re-book an assessment with your Teachers when you have integrated the changes into your vinyassa.

Will I need to read all the recommended reading before starting the course? 2016-11-15T16:23:10+00:00

No, this is not a prerequisite however these books are recommended to prepare your mind for the teacher training.You may find yourself better prepared by choosing to read any book from the recommended list.

What happens if I can’t complete the course? 2016-11-15T16:23:02+00:00

We will keep your files on record and if you wish to continue with the course within 12 months you can pick up where you left of.
