From an early age personal transformation and finding answers to addictive behaviors were a life and death situation for him, and the beginning of a long road to personal power and freedom. As the years passed, he found meditation the key ingredient to maintaining purpose and health, yet it wasn’t until he attended his first yoga class that the final piece came into play. Yoga became a way out of the stresses and strains of life, not only had he found a way to cleanse his mind, but his physical body as well, the yoga union was now a reality.
In 2007 he completed 360 hours Teacher Training with his great friend Jo Moore, he is a 700 hour accredited YAAI instructor. In 2014 he trained in Thailand with Yin Master Paul Grilley (YYTT Level 1: Anatomy & Theory) and USA (YYTT Level 2: Chakras & Meridians). Karl’s classes consist of Flow to Yin, followed by Chakra Meditations, something he now terms Spine Spice.
He returned to Newcastle from QLD in 2010 to introduce its people to Hot Power Yoga, Yin Yoga and Yin/Yang yoga teacher training, he is also accredited with providing its community with highly professional and successful prenatal and mum’s and bubs yoga classes, he is a visionary with the sole purpose of helping create positive change in our society and the collective consciousness.
Discovering yoga to support long hours working within the hospitality industry in her mid-20’s, yoga became Shelley’s GO-TO for a quick fix in both body and mind. Over the years the quick fix has transformed into a more therapeutic offering for students, supporting and promoting personal growth and healing. Shelley has seen first-hand the benefits of yoga, physically, emotionally and mentally through her own personal journey of grief and loss.
“Yoga is not about the physical, there is so much more when you let go of achieving and performing a pose, Yoga is about connecting to the internal environment – it is here where growth and magic happen.”
Certified with Level 1 and 2 from Radiant Light Yoga, Shelley also trained with Judith Hanson Lasater, Relax And Renew Restorative Training (2010), Yin Yoga Training (2015), Bliss Baby Prenatal Training (2006), and Trauma Release.
Shelley has been providing remedial and therapeutic massage since 1999 and has an in-depth knowledge and thorough understanding of the human anatomy from a physiological perspective with focus on the muscular and endocrine systems.
